80,000 Pounds of Mulch; No Problem for Double Coin RR150 Tires

Downtime is the last thing Rizor Trucking wants as they haul 80,000 pounds of mulch every day to Home Depot and Lowe’s stores across a three-state area. And it is the last thing they get with Double Coin tires.

In fact, Michael Rizor who owns the trucking company with his wife Susan, says Rizor family.jpgthey have not had a single downtime incident related to their Double Coin tires.

“They wear good, and you can haul heavy with them with absolutely no issues,” he says. “We haven’t had any problems at all.”

Rizor Trucking, LLC, based in Marysville, OH, recently spec’d Double Coin RR150 tires (size 295/75R22.5; pictured below) on six new Fontaine spread axle trailers. They asked for Double Coin RT500 tires (size 255/70R22.5) on a highly accessorized Raven step back trailer.

They also run Double Coin RLB400 closed shoulder drive tires on their tractors, which are mostly Peterbilt 379’s (model years 2005 – 2008).

Long-time, well-respected Alabama tire dealer Ed Westmoreland says the RR150 “is probably the best spread axle tire on the market today.”

The RT500 is a low profile all-position multi-use tire with 5 ribs that delivers outstanding handling and durability.

We don't hesitate to put our RLB400 up against any drive tire in the market and regularly receive tremendous reviews on mileage and traction. An extra deep 30/32" tread with stone drilling protectors promotes long original mileage in the RLB400, and the closed shoulder tread design provides even wear.

To say that Rizor Trucking is a family affair is putting it mildly. Michael started in trucking more than 40 years ago. When Susan and him tied the knot in 1981 she quit her insurance job and got a CDL. They drove cross country together. Like I always say, the family that trucks together, stays together!

His first truck to drive was a ’68 GMC with a 238 Detroit Diesel engine. The first truck he owned was a ’77 Kenworth with a 350 Cummins.

Their son Mark (pictured with them at the recent Mid America show) is also in the business. “I was going back and forth to California each week with them. Mom used to pack the diapers and bottles and off we’d go!” Mark recalls.

And who knows, 6-year-old grandson Brayden (pictured below with "his trucks") may also join the business some day. He has accompanied his dad on many hauls and "knows more about trucking than most grown men." His favorite trip was when his grandparents and parents took two rigs to Florida and  he “had a really fun time” at Disney World and Sea World after making their deliveries.

What a great family! Double Coin is proud to be part of the team, and we look forward to hearing more about Brayden’s trucking adventures in the future!
